Privacy Policy

Snag is built to be anonymous. You don't create an account, and we don't ask for your name, email, or phone number. Each install is given an anonymous identifier that we use only to prevent spam and abuse — it isn't linked to your identity.

What we collect

When you submit a report, we collect what you choose to include: the category, your written description, the location you're reporting (its coordinates and, when available, the city and state), and an optional photo. Reports are public — other people using Snag can see them on the map — so please don't include personal information in your descriptions or photos.

Location

Snag uses your location to place a report on the map and to show problems reported near you. The location is attached to the report, not to you. We only access your location while you're using the app, and only when you grant permission.

Photos

If you attach a photo to a report, it is uploaded and shown publicly alongside that report. Camera and photo library access are used only for this purpose.

What we don't do

We don't collect personal information, we don't sell or share your data with third parties for advertising, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.

Data storage

Reports, photos, and the anonymous identifier are stored securely with our hosting provider (Supabase). Reports are retained so the community map stays useful over time.
